Steak is the Name of the Game at The Meat Co.
The Meat Co. in the Monarch Arch neighborhood of Johannesburg, South Africa, is deserving of the many accolades it receives for its succulent steaks and its attentive staff. When you are welcomed to The Meat Co., you feel as though you are among friends.
The servers are happy to help you with your meal choices, taking the time to find out what cut of meat you prefer and how you like it prepared. Choose from toppings such as snails, herb butter, cheese and bacon, garlic butter, or simply salt and pepper. The servers are equally adept at helping you choose the best wine to complement your meal so that you will enjoy the complete dining experience.
Solo diners needn’t feel uncomfortable; the management makes sure you receive the same attentive service as a romantic couple or a large party. My dining experience at The Meat Co. certainly did not disappoint, from the outstanding service to the juicy, succulent steak, accompanied by delicious herb-cheese bread topped with peppers. And the recommended wine pairing couldn’t have been better. This was definitely a home run for The Meat Co. and I look forward to my next visit with great anticipation.
The Meat Co. is a part of the Food Fund International portfolio of restaurants. Costa Tomazos, who also opened one of the first steakhouse chains in South Africa, established it in 2000.
