What do you think of when someone mentions “winter retreat”? Is it exploring a variety of adventure sports through mountains laden with snow? Maybe it evokes images of warm crackling fires and cashmere blankets with the heady scent of a steaming hot toddy held warm in your grasp.
This winter, our holiday travels took a slight detour northwest of Montreal and into the heart of mountainous luxury of Tremblant Mountain Chalets. This demure getaway, hidden away in the Nord Domain of the Laurentian Mountains, offers year-round luxury chalets with a variety of decors to suit anyone’s preference.
Owners Tiffany and Michel fell in love with Tremblant Mountain Chalets and the Cote Nord Domain on their first visit. When Michel arranged a romantic weekend getaway for Tiffany’s birthday, little did he know that in less than 3 short years he would own the chalet they were renting as well as manage an additional 30 luxury chalets by 2016. Today, Michel and Tiffany have rooted themselves to the local community of Mont Racine in Lac Supérieur which is still home to 5 generations of families.
With the recent acquisition of a competitor, this dynamic duo is working overtime to develop their own community of luxury rentals.
Tremblant Mountain Chalets offers up a wide assortment of housing. From private spa chalets to the more traditional ‘Abraham Lincoln’ style log cabin, there is a selection for everyone.
The newest design addition, SpaHaus, is an architectural and minimalists dream. Private spa facilities in each unit, and an open floorplan with floor to ceiling windows you will indulge in unfathomable relaxation and will probably never want to leave.
Each SpaHaus is built in the curves of the mountain side, merging the natural beauty of Quebec while offering seclusion from neighboring cottages. These luxury chalets are perfect for couples and newlyweds or even a private retreat for 1 from the city noises of Montreal.
For a getaway that is best suited to families or groups of friends, (do I have a vote for a girls weekend, anyone?), consider the traditional cabins, which offer 2 distinct variations on decor: Scandinavian and Contemporary. Although the most distinguishing factor between each of these is decor and potentially size, they each offer modern amenities. Most units offer private patios with unbelievable Laurentian Mountain views, outdoor barbecue facilities, private hot tubs, fully equipped kitchens, free wi-fi and satellite television; the latter of which are a few amenities the kids will likely take full advantage of.
If you are seeking activities in addition to exploring the luxury in your chalet, Tiffany is a phone call or email away. She knows the area like the back of her hand and will not only suggest a variety of activities but will personally call and arrange everything. You will not find better concierge services than here. You don’t have to wander far from Tremblant Mountain Chalets for entertaining activities to engage in while visiting the domain. If visiting during the winter doesn’t suit your schedule, they have a private beach and activities center on the shores of pristine Lac-Supérieur, which offers swimming, kayaking and hiking to visitors during the spring and summer seasons.
There is no doubt about it, Tremblant Mountain Chalets is a superior destination worth exploring, regardless of the time of year, but for us, it has redefined “winter retreat”.
