Da Nang | A Land of Beautiful Beaches

Da Nang is one of the major port cities in Vietnam and the biggest city on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. The city is situated on the coast of the East Sea and at the opening end of the Han River. Da Nang is the commercial and educational center of Central Vietnam located between Hanoi and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), separated from Laos by the western Truong Son Mountains. It is surrounded by Thua Thien – Hue along the northern border and Quang Nam on the southern border. VietnamIt is embraced by the East Sea with 150km of seacoast.

Da Nang is also impressive by Hai Van Pass with Mang Mountain 1,708m, Ba Na Mountain 1,487m. Son Tra Peninsula, an ideal site of yellow sand beaches, historical remains, and rare bird and animal species washes the East Sea in the east. Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains) is in the south closed to Hoian. The seashore district of Da Nang is Hoang Sa Archipelago with a large fishery.

My Khe Beach (China Beach) is more developed, since it was a popular spot for American soldiers seeking R&R during the Vietnam-US War. Water sport activities here are in abundance, and it can get very crowded over weekends and holidays. Da Nang’s coastline stretches 20 miles is considered to be Vietnam’s most picturesque beach, the 20-mile white sandy known locally by its proper name Non Nuoc Beach which is renowned for calm, cool waters and also popular for fishing, water-skiing, diving, and yachting.

Average temperature is about 26℃, the highest is 28-30℃ in June, July and August while the lowest is 18-23℃ in December, January and February. In Ba Na Mountain, the temperature is 20℃. Average rainfall is 2,505mm per year that concentrates during October and November.

Da Nang is an ancient land, closely related with the Sa Huynh cultural traditions. Many imposing, palaces, towers, temples, citadels and ramparts, the vestiges from 1st to 13th are still to be seen in Cham Museum. Da Nang has other various interesting attractions as Ba Na Tourist Resort, Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains) as well as the Linh Ung Pagoda, Han River, and My An, Non Nuoc beaches, stretching on dozens of kilometers…

Danang is 108km from Hue, 30km from Hoian, 763km from Hanoi, and 947km from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Highway from Hanoi to Saigon running across Da Nang.

Danang International Airport is 2.5km south-west of the city center. There are domestic and international flights to and from the airport.

Express train, which connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), also stops in Da Nang. Moreover, Tien Sa and Han River ports are located in a very wonderful position.

Da Nang is an ideal place for different types of tourists from family vocation to cultural, heritage, adventure etc.
